These workshops are suitable for both beginners
and those with painting experience. No previous drawing or painting
experience is required. This approach tackles the paradox of expressing
the self by forgetting the self and will strengthen your ability
to work without left brain interference. For more experienced
students the course will be useful both for those who want to
extend their use of colour and those who want to work less tightly.
Drawing and painting skills improve with guided practice, as does
a good colour sense. Bold use of colour will be encouraged.

These workshops assume previous experience of
ink painting techniques and Zen Drawing (one of the above workshops
or equivalent). We’ll explore the landscape of the Downs
and the seascape of the coast, applying Zen Drawing techniques
outside and painting with inks back in the studio.

workshops). The human figure is one of the most challenging and
satisfying subjects for an artist. There will be a model both
days.
